Whipper is a Standard American Eskimo Dog, 16.5" at the Withers.

Whipper came to us as a finished champion at 18 months old. We got her to be a companion for Poppy! It has worked out wonderfully. Since the day we adopted Whipper, Poppy has been a much calmer and happier dog. It really is twice the fun and only a bit more work having two Eskies rather than one.

Whipper is a very laid back and calm dog at home, but she kicks it up on the agility course! She is a goofy speed demon and I swear that sometimes her legs are moving faster than she can think.....there are certainly times when she's moving faster than I can think! It wasn't always that way though, for a while Whipper didn't like agility at all and we thought we'd have to find some other type of outlet for her instead.

Whipper took a break from agility for about 2 years. When we signed her up for a session to see if she may have some renewed interest, we were pleased that she genuinely enjoyed it. Although she hadn't been back in regular classes for long, Whipper was entered in a 2005 Independence Day NADAC trial. I didn't honestly expect her to do much, this was just "ring experience". It was a nice surprise when she earned her Novice Agility Certificate!

Whipper has gained more confidence at agility trials and has become a bit of a wild child, so we're working on getting more consistent performances. I love her boundless energy, and although she's 8 years old now, most people think she's much younger.

When we're not at agility trials, we volunteer with Happy Tails doing Animal Assisted Therapy. This consists of visiting various locations such as hospitals or elderly nursing homes, and allowing the people to enjoy spending time with the dogs. Whipper really enjoys the attention and she often brings a smile to someone's face.
